NEW IAGRE PRESIDENT
Rob Merrall succeeds Mark Kibblewhite
Dr Robert Merrall has been elected as the new President of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE). He took over from Professor Mark Kibblewhite for a two year term at the IAgrE Annual General Meeting held at the JCB headquarters at Rocester yesterday (28 April 2016) Rob Merrall gained an engineering doctorate at the Silsoe Campus of Cranfield University with research into Forage Maize Production. He then spent 5 years at Renault Agriculture (now Claas) as Marketing Manager. In 2004, he joined dealer Oakes Bros as Marketing Manager, moving to a similar post at Murley Agricultural Supplies. He was then appointed Business Development Manager for the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) based at Stoneleigh where was responsible for the staging of technical and related events for the RASE. In 2010 he started his present company, Merralls Consulting which is engaged in Agri-Tech Research, working closely with Innovate UK through their Sustainable Agriculture and Food Innovation Platform.
