TOP GREEN SPONSOR BALI AWARD P Casey celebrate win
TOP GREEN, suppliers of landscaping, amenity and sportsturf grass seed and Euroflor urban flower mixes, say they are delighted that P Casey (Land Reclamation) has won the prestigious BALI award for restoration and regeneration.
The award, sponsored by Top Green, went to P Casey for their work on Stamford Park, Stalybridge, in Tameside Metropolitan Borough, north of Manchester.

Stephen Alderton, Top Green director of marketing and development, said: “We were incredibly impressed by this massive project which was fully deserving of the BALI principal award in this category.
“We are proud to be associated with BALI and this award is a reflection of all that is good about our industry.”
Rigby Taylor, who distribute Top Green grass seed and Euroflor seed in the UK, sponsored the BALI Grand Award which went to Gavin Jones for their work on a 30-acre private landscape garden in Ascot, Berkshire.
Stamford Park was one of Tamesides’s premier green spaces until falling into disrepair and neglect.
P Casey (Land Reclamation) worked with the council and LDA Design to complete an extensive restoration.
Although initially unpopular, extensive tree and shrub clearance opened up major areas. Follow-up soft-landscape and planting packages used a mixture of shrubs and herbaceous plants to replicate the gardens of yesteryear and create a whole new vibrancy.
Terraced lawns and footpaths link a water feature with old and new verandas next to the main bowling green.
The judges said: “The Heritage Lottery and local council-funded restoration of a Victorian park has saved a once-beautiful public space from neglect and abandonment. The contractor - last year’s Grand Award winner - has used its well-honed expertise to transform the park.
“A large area has been regraded and reshaped. Terraces, a reservoir, a boating house and all railings have been refurbished, large urns restored and water courses reconstructed.
“This major undertaking has been completed with expertise and sensitivity by the contractor, resulting in excellent client satisfaction.”
