Grant Shapps at Central Spares

Following their recent appointment as the European Distributor for Spyker Spreaders for Europe, Central Spares hosted a visit from Grant Shapps MP Co-Chairman of the Conservative party and Michael Tomlinson, Conservative candidate for Mid Dorset and North Poole.

The Directors of Central Spares showed their visitors the 1600m² warehouse and newly completed packing area with the ‘Shrinkwrap Packaging system that protects individual parts during shipment and reduces the need for additional protective packaging. Central have made an additional investment in a 300m² mezzanine floor, expanded goods inwards facility and upgraded their computer system – with local supplier Enhanced Computers of Poole – to cope with recent increase in business and expansion into new export markets.

After the review of the warehouse, modern open plan offices and meeting the staff, the Directors and their political visitors discussed opportunities to expand sales of both Spyker Spreaders and replacement parts within the UK and throughout Europe.

Following his visit to Central Spares, Grant Shapps commented; “SMEs like Central Spares are playing a pivotal role in the ongoing recovery of the UK’s economic recovery. This Government are helping businesses like this to thrive by giving them the help they need to recruit more staff, invest in machinery and develop their export opportunities. As a result we are seeing SME’s all over the country, such as Central Spares, expanding their business and contributing to the economic recovery as a whole.”

Picture shows l to r Michael Tomlinson, Rt Hon Grant Shapps, with Central Directors John Brooks and Andrew Cole – looking at a Spyker Spreader on the newly completed mezzanine storage area.
