On a recent BBC Radio 2 programme, a heavy metal band from the 1980’s Lawnmower Deth came back into national consciousness when they were mentioned by a contributor to the BBC Radio 2 Simon Mayo Drivetime shows' 'Drivetime Confessions'. Mayo managed to locate a track from Lawnmower Deth and played the cover track of 'Kids in America' on air. As a result the BBC says that they were flooded with calls regarding the band wanting to know more. The following day, Simon Mayo called lead singer Peter Lee and discovered that Peter had been washing up at the time but that his telephone didn't stop ringing since. For the record, the band were formed in the Nottinghamshire in 1987, broke up in 1993 before reforming in 2008. The band members are: - Qualcast "Koffee Perkulator" Mutilator (Pete Lee)
