. . BUT ATV FIGURES FOR 2012! Ups and down in market split
Traditional ATV sales fell but side-by-side utility sales gained during 2012.
The number of deliveries of All Terrain Vehicles to dealers recorded by the AEA ATV/Quad/Side by Side Group decreased by 12.9 % in 2012 to 5,908 units whilst deliveries of side by side utility vehicles rose 17.9% 4,451 units. (The machines covered in this enquiry are those of a type sold mainly into agriculture and do not cover heavy duty works units or leisure/ sports units).
Group Chairman, Phil Everett of Polaris Britain Ltd, commented: ‘The overall Off Road Vehicle market held fairly stable last year which was particularly satisfying given the challenges faced by farmers and in the context of an estimated drop of some 20% in real farm incomes. The traditional ATV element continues to lose some ground as Utility Side by Side vehicles find more favour.’
