It is with sadness that we report the passing of Mike Adamson on 21 November 2025.

Well known by customers, dealers and suppliers nationwide, Mike was particularly well known in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire area where his family’s business of F G Adamson & Son operated for over 75 years.

Mike was still working full-time into his early 70s when the Covid pandemic forced him to stay at home for his own health and that of his wife, Margaret. Sadly, shortly thereafter, Mike was diagnosed with dementia.

Mike helped countless retail, commercial and trade customers over the years and was well known for his willingness to share his vast technical knowledge to help others. Mike’s son, Michael, recalled a touching moment at a recent dealer meeting where a couple of fellow dealers expressed their gratitude for the help and support that Mike had provided over the years.

Mike leaves his wife Margaret, son Michael, daughter Gillian and three grandchildren. Michael said “The messages of condolence from Dad’s customers, suppliers and former staff are much appreciated and are truly heartwarming.”
