Jon Oostendorp, deputy course manager at Salisbury and South Wilts Golf Club, is the recipient of the 2012 Ransomes Jacobsen-sponsored best student award, presented at Myerscough College’s graduation ceremony recently.
Jon has been studying part-time for the past six years and during this time has completed a FdSc in Sportsturf and this year graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Turfgrass Science. He was presented with the Ransomes Jacobsen Cup in recognition of his commitment and contribution to the study programme.
Jon began his career at the Hampshire Golf Club near Andover, before joining the Ohio State International programme, where he worked at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA. He returned to the UK to take up his position at Salisbury and South Wilts.
Also presented with a Ransomes Jacobsen sponsored award was Kyle Morrison, who won the Ransomes Jacobsen Turf Machinery Practical Award, after completing an Extended Diploma in Sportsturf.
