ANTARTICA2 TRACTOR PRIZE DELIVERED
Arrives at Dumfries farm

Massey Ferguson has delivered the prize tractor to the Dumfries-based winner in its Antarctica2 Expedition online competition.

James Squire hands over the keys for the Antarctica2 tractor to Nancie Clanachan

The brand-new MF 5610 Antarctica2 Special Edition tractor recently arrived at the Clanachan family's McCheynston Farm in Auldgirth from local Massey Ferguson dealer, Carrs Billington of Annan.

As winners of the prize draw, the Clanachans will enjoy a season's use of this machine which Massey Ferguson has launched to celebrate the achievement of the exciting Antarctica2 Expedition. This thrilling adventure across the ice saw an MF 5610 become became the first standard farm tractor equipped with tyres to reach the Geographic South Pole overland.

On arrival at McCheynston Farm, the MF 5610 immediately got to work in the verdant silage harvest - a stark contrast to the white, unforgiving icescape of the Antarctic.

"My sons and grandchildren have been really looking forward to the tractor's arrival - they couldn't believe it when I told them we'd won," said Nancie Clanachan. She beat entrants from a total of 33 countries to win the extra-special prize for her family who run a 340-acre beef and sheep enterprise. "An extra tractor on the farm is a bonus. As well as silaging, the tractor will be fully-employed at harvest time, carting grain and baling straw. In later months it will be used to spread muck and take silage to the cattle sheds."

"We're delighted that the winner of this international competition came from our area," adds Ian Powley Branch Manager at Carrs Billington. "We're sure the Clanachans will have a great experience with this super tractor and the professional back-up from our team at Annan."

Nancie was presented with her prize by Massey Ferguson Area Sales Manager, James Squire.
