EXCITING NEWS
Time to put on the thinking caps . .

Chris Biddle
THIS year marks the 25th Anniversary of Service Dealer magazine (1988 -2013).

A glittering black tie dinner in the Long Room at Lords proved a step too far and the stuff of dreams,  but we do want to commemorate our Silver Jubilee in an appropriate way.

So, we are going to stage a unique Awards event that will celebrate the history of the garden machinery, turfcare and outdoor power equipment industry - and will not be limited to the 25-year span of Service Dealer.

The Service Dealer Heritage Awards will recognise the companies, brands, innovations, products, people and dealers that have made their mark over the past 50 years or so.

And they will be chosen by you - the readers of Service Dealer.

Online voting will be open for 4 weeks in June for you to add your nominations in a number of categories. In early July, we will publish a ‘long-list’ of Award nominees from which we will again ask you to select your preferences.

Then, in association with the IOG and the support of the AEA, we will announce your choice of the winners of the Service Dealer Heritage Awards at a special event to be held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse during SALTEX (3-5 September).

From Edwin Budding’s 1830’s conversion of a machine that trimmed the nap on woollen cloth into a grass cutter through to today’s robotic lawnmowers - evolution and innovation have been ever-present.

It is time we recognised those who have contributed towards the success of our resourceful but often over-looked industry.

Watch for further information and updates shortly.
