MAKITA EXPANDS TWIN 18V (36v) MACHINES
For grounds care operators

  • Twin 18v line trimmer
  • Twin 18v brushless LXT blower

Makita’s twin-battery power system, that utilises two 18v Lithium-Ion batteries in combination to deliver 36v power, is being increasingly used in the expanding range of Makita grounds maintenance, landscaping and gardening tools for professional grounds care operators. Two 18v batteries are directly installed on the machines to supply energy to the powerful 36v DC motor. Two new machines now join the range: a twin 18v line trimmer and a lightweight but powerful twin 18v brushless LXT blower.

The new Makita DUR364LZ line trimmer uses the brushless motor for increased power and longer run time.

This line trimmer will run up to 6,000rpm and has a maximum 350mm cutting diameter. Weighing just 4.5kg this trimmer is well balanced with an ergonomically designed forward D handle and soft grip control, with electronic 2-speed control and reverse switch conveniently placed on the handle. The normal speed performance is controlled in Eco-mode for longer run time while the reverse facility helps to clear grass clippings from the line head. Battery fuel gauges show the charge status of both batteries on the machine body. A major attribute for operators is the low vibration rating of just 2.5 m/s² whilst those nearby will welcome the ultra low noise output of just 81 dB(A).

Developed as the most powerful cordless blower available, the Makita DUB362Z brushless LXT blower runs up to 21,500rpm, produces a maximum air volume of 13.3 m³/m with a maximum air speed of 53 m/s.

This compares favourably with a 4-stroke back-pack contractors blower with 19 m³/m volume and 90 m/s speed. Air volume and speed can be adjusted to six settings with variable control by the trigger to achieve a consistent delivery. Weighing just 4.5kg this powerful blower has a comfortable hand-grip and 3-stage telescopic long nozzle with 100mm adjustment on the overall length of the pipe. Vibrations are very low at just 2.5 m/s² with maximum noise at 79.1 dB(A)

Both new models are supplied in body only format so that owners can utilise the Makita 18v Lithium-Ion batteries that they already own with other Makita power tools.
