Darts player Scott Mitchell’s win of the BDO World Championship in January created a furore in the agricultural machinery world.

When asked what he planned to spend his £100,000 winnings on, Scott commented that he dreamed of buying a tractor for his dad - Hampshire-based farmer Jeff. Agri-machinery manufacturers were quickly in touch offering their services.

Two months on, Scott and his father have just taken delivery of a quality used New Holland T5060. The tractor was recommended to the Mitchells by Ben Best at New Holland’s partner agricultural dealer C&O Tractors.

Scott Mitchell comments: “I said to dad before I left for Lakeside if I win this thing we are going to get rid of all our junk tractors and buy a brand new one. We haven’t had a brand new tractor on the farm since the 1980s when my dad bought me one when I was 18.

“My dad has always been so supportive. It would have been impossible for me to have done what I’ve done without him. Winning the world championship changed my life and it’s nice that I can help him out too.”
