STIHL SUPPORTING THE ARB SECTOR
The ARB Show 2013

The ARB Show

The ARB Show is described as 'the' biggest single annual gathering of arborists on the British calendar, with well over 1,500 arborists attracted to the trade stands, demonstrations and competitions at the event. Showing its support of the specialist arb sector, STIHL is once again Main Sponsor of the event and will show its range of arb products at the STIHL Technical Centre and support practical expertise in sponsored woodland displays.

2013 is the 15th year of the annual ARB Show and the ninth consecutive year of sponsorship by STIHL GB. The STIHL Technical Centre is a popular stop for visitors to the event, with its technical experts on hand giving advice and guidance, answering questions from users and discussing the latest technologies available in its range.

New products at the Show
New products for the arb sector appearing at the event include the STIHL MS 150 TC-E chain saw - a top-handled version newly joining the rear-handled machine. These two lightweight models are particularly suited to pruning work. Show visitors can get their hands on both models and see one at work with STIHL-sponsored demonstrations running daily in the woods. They can also be in with a chance of winning the new top-handled MS 150 TC-E just by registering their details when they enter the Show.

More of this year's additions from STIHL at the show, its cordless Lithium-Ion range has been extended this year with the first long-reach hedge trimmer, a second cordless chain saw and a new backpack battery that powers most of the tools for a full working day. Arborists often work in public and noise-sensitive areas, which is where quiet cordless tools really come into their own. Visitors can also see new models in the M-Tronic chain saw range and talk to the technical team about the benefits of this advanced self-tuning engine technology.

In addition to the new products displayed on the STIHL stand, a number of STIHL Approved Dealers will sell a range of its specialist arb products and PPE from their trade stands at the event.

Talk technical with the experts
The STIHL Technical Centre, as its name implies, is a hub for advice and guidance on technologies available from STIHL. Members of the STIHL Technical Team will guide visitors on advances like the STIHL 2-MIX engine in the new MS 150 TC-E chain saw, and the M-Tronic self-tuning technology of many hard-working ground-based chain saws. Experts will also advise on selecting the best saw chain for different tasks; STIHL offers no less than 13 different saw chains, each with distinct characteristics in terms of their performance, endurance and feel.

The Treevolution demo team
Once again STIHL is sponsoring the Treevolution team at this year's ARB Show, with a programme of practical demonstrations in the woodland area each day. Encouraging best practice and giving expert advice, the Treevolution trainers will demonstrate a series of work scenarios and cover for example, assisted felling techniques and equipment set-up options. The interactive demonstrations encourage visitors' feedback, and visitors can see new products in action and get 'hands-on' themselves.

A great day out
The ARB Show takes place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June, at the Bathurst Estate, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. Tickets are priced at £8.00 per adult and with over 60 specialist trade stands plus competitions, demonstrations and great networking, it promises anyone interested or working in tree care an invaluable day out. Visit www.trees.org.uk for more on The ARB Show, or visit the STIHL website : www.stihl.co.uk for information on its range.
