OFFICIAL OPENING FOR BALMERS GM
Over 100 suppliers & customers attended

John Deere turf dealer Balmers GM Ltd has relocated to new, state of the art premises at Manchester Road, Dunnockshaw, Burnley.

Balmers GM

The official opening took place in early February, with over 100 suppliers and customers attending.

Set in six acres of picturesque landscaped grounds, the new site includes a spacious showroom, fully stocked and equipped parts and service centres and a dedicated test area for customers to try out new and secondhand machines.

In addition to John Deere's full line of professional and domestic turf equipment, Balmers supplies and services machinery from the likes of Allett, Etesia, GreenMech, Scag, Snow-Ex, Stihl and Weidenmann.

The business was originally established in 1979 by founder David Balmer as Burnley Garden Machinery Centre, repairing domestic machinery and a small amount of commercial equipment from local golf and cricket clubs. It now employs 36 people providing sales, service, parts and hire to a wide range of customers including local authorities, sports clubs, contractors, the leisure industry, equestrian centres and smallholders.

In 2012 John Deere and Balmers were the official suppliers of golf course maintenance equipment to The Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club.

Balmers GM also maintains one of the country's largest stocks of secondhand commercial machinery, delivering to both national and international customers.

"We were rapidly outgrowing our previous building in Trafalgar Street, where we'd been trading for nearly 30 years, and had been looking to move for some time," says Joanne Balmer-Smith, who is David Balmer's daughter. "The new site suits our needs perfectly and will improve our business processes and efficiency, as well as providing customers with a much better buying experience."
