The Blenheim Horse Trials, a firm fixture in the eventing calendar since 1990, is now only a few weeks away, and work is ramping up to get the venue ready for the field of world-class competitors and thousands of spectators.

Designed by Eric Winter, and built by David Evans and Richard Taylor, the cross-country course at Blenheim has developed a reputation amongst competitors for being fast, but a testing challenge. The course runs through parkland designed by Capability Brown, and the star attraction for spectators is the unique water jump complex around the River Glyme.

To get ready in time, David needs some seriously capable equipment, and the Cub Cadet RZTS46 Zero-Turn lawn tractor is proving to be just that. As the picture below shows, it makes short work of cutting a trail through the woods, despite the tough terrain, long grass, and stubborn weeds.

Once the course is cut, it's all about the details, and trickier areas around the jumps, or on the various steep-sided mounds can only be reached with a smaller machine. Richard and his team are using the Cub Cadet Triloy self-propelled pedestrian mower CC53SPBEV, and are full of praise for it: light and manoeuvrable, and with variable speed control, it makes short work of any task. Most importantly, the electric starter is easy and reliable; making sure the Triloy is ready to go when they are!
