SUCCESSFUL GGP CONFERENCE
Large number of dealers attend

GGP UK staged their annual three day conference at the National Motorcycle Museum, near to the Birmingham NEC, this week, with large numbers of dealers attending - around 180 each day.

On Tuesday and Wednesday the conference concentrated on the Stiga and Mountfield brands, whilst on Thursday Atco and Alpina were discussed.

National Sales Manager, Gary Whitney, opened the conference, welcoming dealers who he said would benefit from continued business with GGP due to the company's "exciting new products and reassuringly stable policies."

Managing Director, Duncan Martin then took to the stage saying the company and its dealer network had enjoyed a great year. He said how there was great confidence out there currently which had contributed to the company having its most successful financial year ever. "GGP UK broke the £50million barrier this year," he said, "which is a 14.5% improvement on last year."

He spoke of rises in sales of ride-on mowers, petrol rotaries and particularly in handheld multi-tools.

Duncan said, "To continue our growth next year we need to continue to invest in our stock to meet the ever increasing customer expectations."

He also confirmed that GGP will no longer be producing the MacAllister branded lawnmowers for the mass channels. He said he expected next year to see some aggressive pricing from the sheds on their Chinese-built equipment ranges.

Duncan concluded by telling the dealers, "We'll invest in you, we want you to invest in us."

There then followed presentations on new products across the brands, as well as ample opportunity for the dealers to get hands-on and try out the new equipment.
