An experienced specialist in the field of slurry management equipment has joined Bauer’s sales and service operation in the UK and Ireland.
Rob Jackson, who will work alongside sales manager Adrian Tindall, brings many years’ experience of practical farm slurry management and anaerobic digestion plant to the business, with the aim of strengthening dealer support and further building sales of the Austrian manufacturer’s growing range of slurry pumping, mixing, separation and application equipment.
“Having spent a couple of years working outside the agricultural industry I’m very pleased to be back,” says Rob. “My roots are in farming and the countryside and I’ve missed them; it’s good to be back on farms helping producers tackle their slurry storage and handling issues.”
Having earned a degree in agricultural technology and management at Silsoe College, Rob Jackson joined crop storage company Welvent, where he helped develop a new business venture engineering and installing slurry storage systems. Later, he acquired the Welvent-owned business importing Doda slurry pumps, renamed it Jackson Pumping Systems and successfully increased turnover from around £0.5 million to £3 million at its peak.
A change of direction brought Rob’s first hands-on experience of Bauer slurry equipment as Scotland and Northern England area sales manager for Bauer dealer Spreadwise.
A move to diesel engine distributor Mitchell Power Systems followed as a result of Rob’s experience specifying diesel engine pump sets. But although he enjoyed the industrial engineering projects his role involved, the lure of agriculture proved irresistible when he was invited to join Bauer’s national team.
“I’m delighted Rob agreed to join us to help develop sales of Bauer clean water irrigation systems, farm slurry management equipment and AD plant separation systems,” says Adrian Tindall. “His experience will be a great asset.”
Rob is operating from his home near Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
