HAYTER HELP GREENFINGERS CHARITY
Create hospice gardens for children

Hayter say they are proud to be helping UK children’s charity Greenfingers in their mission to create magical gardens for children’s hospices.

The Limited Edition Hayter Platinum Harrier 41 was won by freelance garden writer Jean Vernon in a competition run by the company at the 2016 Garden Press Event. But in a heart-warming turn of events, as the winner had planted a wildflower meadow to replace her lawn, it has now been donated to the Buckinghamshire based Greenfingers charity.

Greenfingers is dedicated to supporting children who use hospices around the UK, along with their families, by creating beautiful, well designed gardens for them to enjoy whether through play and fun or therapeutic rest and relaxation.

To date, Greenfingers has created 50 inspiring outdoor spaces and with a further waiting list of hospices in need of their help, the Hayter lawnmower will serve as a fantastic raffle prize at the forthcoming Rock for The Gardens concert (Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth on Sunday 26th June), organised to raise much needed funds for the cause.

Linda Petrons, Head of Fundraising for Greenfingers explains: “We are very grateful to both Jean Vernon and Hayter for the donation, which will serve as a fantastic first prize in the Rock Choir concert raffle taking place on 26th June at the Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth.

“With 200 members of the Rock Choir and 500 guests in the audience we are confident that the Platinum Harrier 41 will attract a lot of interest and help raise a good amount to facilitate our continued work in creating magical gardens for children’s hospices right across the UK.”

The Hayter Platinum Harrier 41 is a Limited Edition model to celebrate the firm’s 70th anniversary this year.

Julie Dommett, Marketing Manager from Hayter, concludes: “We are delighted to be involved in supporting such a worthwhile children’s charity. We would like to thank Jean Vernon for donating the Hayter Platinum mower on to Greenfingers and we look forward to hearing how much money has been raised next month.”
