BALI CALLS OFF 2013 SHOW Questions whether traditional shows are in decline
BALI has taken the decision to defer its 2013 two day trade show until market conditions improve and the wider landscape industry is better placed to benefit from the event. “Indications from other industry sectors as well as our own suggest that the appeal of traditional trade shows is on the decline and that biennial events may be more useful in serving the needs of visitors and exhibitors” explained BALI’s Chief Operations Officer Wayne Grills.
BALI’s new National Chairman Chris Carr, Sales and Marketing Manager of Q Lawns, questions whether trade shows are being suffocated by cyberspace in the same way that high street shops and garden centres are: “Research of product information is easy with the internet and will target what you need. What it can’t do is show you the dream and, in that respect, there is no substitute for seeing, feeling and experiencing a product and discussing the options with someone in the know.”
The BALI Landscape Show is organised by Brintex, the company recently appointed by IOG to organise the SALTEX show
The 2013 Event Planner in a new, larger size, will once again contain dates of all the national and international industry shows and events. Published with the December issue of Turf Pro/Service Dealer TO ADVERTISE GEORGE MILLER E-mail or 020 3603 7936
