AUTOMOWER COMPETITION WINNER RECEIVES PRIZE
From Husqvarna and Louth Tractors

Abigail Jones (48) from Lincolnshire is the winner of Husqvarna’s recent ’Hunt for Automower’ competition.

The initiative, which was launched to celebrate the release of the 435X AWD model in February, saw entrants try to guess the location of a product based on clues provided by the company over a number of weeks.

Abigail guessed correctly, choosing Oberstdorf, Germany, where the 435X AWD went up and down the landing area of Heini Klopfer Schanze, the world’s third biggest ski jump slope. Abigail wins a brand new 435X AWD as the competition’s prize.

Seeing the technology at work for the first time at 2018’s Lincolnshire Show, Abigail was immediately impressed and could see how it would benefit her property and her partner’s family business, Rigsby Wold Holiday Cottages - part of Rigsby Farming Co Ltd.

Local dealer, Louth Tractors, provided the installation and ensured the product was up and running for Abigail.

Discussing her joy of winning, Abigail commented: ”When I found out my first thoughts were immediate disbelief, quickly followed by elation. I was over the moon to have won the product which I was so impressed by.

”I’d consider myself a fairweather gardener, who is reluctant in bad weather and passionate when the sun shines. I’m excited to see the Automower handle our lawn and the many slopes which have been a challenge for us in the past to mow.

”I will now focus on establishing the next border and planting in our garden - things which I have not previously had the time to do.”

Husqvarna UK category manager - Lawn, Andrew Lees, said: ”Huge congratulations to Abigal on winning the competition.

”The robotic mower is perfectly suited to its new surroundings, maintaining the lawn of the winner’s holiday cottage. The location has a steepening sloped garden at the back of the property and was challenging to cut with a conventional mower, not only will this save time on cutting the lawn, it will also ensure that paying guests will always look out onto a pristine and green lawn."
