Fleet of pressure washers power interactive public fountain

The pressure washer-powered interactive fountain

A small town in Germany called Winnenden, home to Kärcher, recently played host to an interactive, public 'water organ', powered by a series of pressure washers.

The art exhibit was built as part of a celebration of industry in Germany and featured eight of Kärcher's distinctive yellow electric pressure washers.

The Wasserorgel ('water organ') shot streams of water and played notes in response to passersby using the waterproof 3D-printed piano keyboard. The display was managed by an Arduino with a MIDI shield, which controlled the pressure washers via solid state relays and even accepted input from an anemometer to shut down the show if it got too windy.

The below video shows how popular the attraction was during its recent week-long residency in the town's market square.
