GREENMECH WELCOMES THE PRESS
Opens its factory doors and stages demo

GreenMech opened their Alcester factory doors to the trade press this week, and alongside dealers Orange Plant, staged a demonstration of their latest equipment.

Managing director of GreenMech, Jonathan Turner, son of founder and chairman Tony Turner, explained how the company has a "cradle to grave approach to chippers". Sheet metal arrives in their facilities, is fully manufactured into professional woodchippers, which are then delivered to market via the dealer route, with GreenMech then being on hand for assistance throughout the machine's working life.

Sales Director Martin Lucas explained how the market for chippers couldn't be more expansive with customers ranging from arboretums to zoos. He said this is why shows such as Saltex were so important to GreenMech seeing as how they deliver such a wide range of visitors, from many different backgrounds, all of whom could have the need for a chipper.

He went on to explain how they are proud that their machines stand out from the crowd particularly with features such as their reduced noise levels and their letterbox openings for faster throughput.

Martin emphasised how important the specialist dealer channel is to GreenMech with the UK currently being covered by 16 dealers which works out at 27 depots. These include some dealers with multiple depots such as MST, TH White and indeed Orange Plant.

Keith Hutchinson, general manager of Orange Plant, who was also on hand at the event, explained how GreenMech machines and the Carlton stump grinders which they import from America both lend themselves naturally to the hire market for dealers. Not only because they are the sort of product which not everyone has the need to own all year round, but most importantly because of their robust and reliable build. He said, "From a hire point of view, you don't want machines out there which you have to keep going out repairing. You want them to be built to last."
