NEW HOLLAND IN THE EGG BUSINESS
Clearing the waste from one of Europe's leading egg producer

New Holland in the egg business

New Holland has broken into the egg industry in a big way. It has joined forces with one of Europe’s largest egg producers, Shropshire based Oakland Eggs.

Three new recently acquired New Holland T7030s are already working at the farm along with aT6090, while a further three orders have been taken – orders which include two new Tier IV T7.220s and a T7.235 which will be joining the first wave of distinctive blue tractors in the near future.

The tractors are certainly put through their paces on the Oaklands Farm. with half a million chickens in residence, there is a lot of waste to remove and it is the job of the tractors to remove the chicken manure from the farm. While carrying out this task, the New Holland machines can clock up 50,000 road miles a year.

The manure transporting duties take up 95 per cent of the tractors’ time. For the remainder of the time the machines are involved in field work – such as drilling after combining.

David Edwards, from New Holland dealership Ravenhill in Shropshire, brokered the deal: “It’s fitting that one of Britain’s largest egg producers – based in Shropshire – has joined forces with New Holland – who manufacture tractors in Britain. In fact Oaklands is going to fly the flag on one of the New Holland tractors and is having a Union Flag transfer put onto the bonnet.”
