New ASM for golf

Sandy Leys, on the left, hands over the role of area sales manager for golf in North Scotland to David Raitt

Toro distributor Lely UK has said goodbye to Sandy Leys and welcomed David Raitt into the role of area sales manager for golf in Scotland.

With Sandy retiring after 35 years in the golf industry, David joins to look after North Scotland. The position is a career change for David after spending 22 years as head greenkeeper at Forfar Golf Club in Angus.

"What appealed to me about this job is the fact that I understand the reality of life as a greenkeeper", he says. "I understand the different applications and methods required to maintain a golf course, and the machines best suited to achieve that."

George MacDonald, Lely business development manager for Scotland, comments:"We all thoroughly enjoyed working with Sandy and will miss him, he was a natural salesman you could really learn things from and we wish him a happy retirement.

"The job is left in safe hands with David. He begins the role with great product knowledge having used Toro at Forfar and his admiration for all Toro kit is obvious in demonstrations. It's a great match!"
