Re-designed in 2013, the new VIKING 4 Series lawn mower range includes four powerful petrol models with two different cutting widths plus a new 41cm cordless machine powered by the STIHL Lithium-Ion battery system. For those who want to quickly cut and not collect, two side-discharge lawn tractors have joined this year's range, plus two dedicated mulch mowers including a high-performance and particularly eco-friendly model for professional use.

New professional mulch mower
New to the range this year, two new dedicated mulch mowers are tough, reliable and very easy to use. Showing their literally 'green' credentials, both have been awarded the Nordic 'Svanen' ecolabel which recognises their environmentally friendly manufacture and operation - with low emission levels and fuel economy in use. The top-range MB 4 RTP is a particularly robust model with an extra powerful engine for contractors' use, with a 53cm cutting width and single-speed front wheel drive. Driven by an easy-starting Kohler Courage engine this practical and efficient mower features crankshaft protection for increased service life, reinforced, height-adjustable handlebars and simple 5-stage central cutting height adjustment. Crucially its efficient anti-vibration system means vibration is just 2.4m/s2, allowing professionals to work comfortably throughout an 8-hour working day.
New side-discharge lawn tractors
Characterised by their speed, performance and advanced design, two new side-discharge models have joined the VIKING lawn tractor range. With cut widths of 95cm and 110cm the new models are ideal for lawn areas up to 8,000 m2 and their compact design plus tight 70cm turning circle means they can sweep down the straights and nip nimbly around bends. Making them not only efficient but very easy to use, VIKING designers have ensured intuitive controls based on automatic car logic with the forward and reverse drive switching system for example, exclusive to the range. It means drivers simply push the control lever 'forward' or pull it back to reverse; and even foot pedals follow car logic : accelerator on the right and brake on the left.
