TORO TOUR WINDS UP
Cardiff is final venue in 2012 tour

Toro on tour

Cardiff’s Cottrell Park Golf Resort played host to the final date in the 2012 Toro on Tour roadshow calendar, bringing the turf maintenance machinery manufacturer’s tour of the country to a successful conclusion.

Organised by distributor Lely UK and involving a host of local dealers across England, Scotland and Wales, the tour saw Toro take its latest machinery launches and expertise right to customers’ doors.

Commencing at The National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire in August, the annual tour has travelled as far and wide as The West Kilbride Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland, Lanhydrock Golf Club in Bodmin, Cornwall, and Diss Golf Club in Norfolk.

For the first time, this year’s tour allowed Lely’s Toro area managers and their dealers to tailor the events to suit existing and prospective Toro buyers on their patch by showcasing the machines most of interest. This meant that, as well as debuting newer models such as the Greensmaster Triflex greensmowers, organisers could demonstrate existing models best suited to the area’s conditions – for example, Toro’s aerators range was shown off to regions affected by compaction due to this summer’s heavy rainfall.

According to Lely’s Toro national sales manager Jeff Anguige, this year’s tour provided greenkeepers, groundsmen and other turf professionals in attendance with the most relevant experience yet. “Giving our sales managers and dealers the freedom to pick and choose the most suitable machines ensured guests got bespoke turfcare advice and machinery recommendations. All in all, the tour was a great success and great fun, even incorporating things like competitions to see who could change the cutting units fastest. Our thanks to our team, dealer network, host venues and all those who came along.”
