BIGGA MEMBERS EDUCATION POTENTIAL BOOSTED
With online academy

Specialist supplier Sherriff Amenity has become BIGGA's latest education supporter.

The company is the specialist amenity division of Agrovista UK and is host of the online Sherriff Amenity Academy, where BIGGA members can now complete online courses and examinations, earning Continued Professional Development credits.

BIGGA Head of Member Learning Stuart Green said, “Sherriff Amenity has been a loyal supporter of BIGGA and our members for a number of years and we are delighted they will be offering this great service to our members.

“BIGGA now has more education supporters than ever before, and that is fantastic as it will help our members become better than ever.”

The Sherriff Amenity Academy has been set up to help improve the UK turf amenity sector’s stewardship of pesticide and products. The online academy will help BIGGA members keep up to date with legislation and product information and promoting best practice for all pesticide products.

The academy is an online learning resource, with courses and lessons being created for all products sold by Sherriff Amenity. The academy also provides knowledge-based courses such as ‘How to create an IPM programme’ and ‘Aeration’.

Sherriff Amenity’s Chris O’Kane said: “We are delighted to be working closely with BIGGA and supporting the education offered to their members. The new Sherriff Amenity Academy provides a platform for education not only on our products but also knowledge courses covering a wide range of areas of turf management. These courses are then followed up in subsequent years with refresher courses.

“We have been working closely with BIGGA on education for a number of years through supporting the BASIS Foundation courses at BTME and now with the addition of CPD points on the Sherriff Academy. Working with BIGGA allows us to provide education to a much larger audience and we are continuing to add additional courses and content to ensure the Sherriff Academy is a relevant database of online material for any member of the greenkeeping team looking to further their education.”
