APPROVAL RENEWED FOR DICOPHA
Amenity turf weed control product

The product is used to control control of broad-leaved weeds such as buttercup, clover, dandelion, deadnettle and dock
Approval for use of turf herbicide, Dicophar, which offers weed control for up to three months, has been successfully renewed by the HSE’s Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD).

The product, by Arysta LifeScience, is applied to managed amenity turf for long-term selective control of broad-leaved weeds such as buttercup, clover, dandelion, deadnettle and dock.

Drawing on the combined power of four active ingredients, the producers say Dicophar provides an optimal range of weed control and resistance management for up to six months after application.

Arysta LifeScience Product Development & Technical Manager for UK & Ireland, Don Pendergrast, said: “Dicophar is rather unique in that it contains four active ingredients, and this is why it is so effective in controlling such a broad range of troublesome weeds.

“We are delighted that the CRD has renewed the use of this product - a powerful tool for those looking to control weeds on golf courses, sports pitches and other large areas of turf.”

Applied once a year, Dicophar contains the following active ingredients - 2-4D, MCPA, MCPP-P and Dicamba. With a wide application window, it is selective even when used on young turf, and is rain-fast at three or six hours, depending on weed species.

Mr Pendergrast added: “Although applied only once a year, Dicophar has long-term efficacy. Trials have shown that for common weeds such as daisy, clover and dandelion, it offers control for up to three months.”
