KUBOTA PARTNERS WITH FAI
Supplying National Training Centre in Dublin

Kubota UK is now the official supplier of groundcare equipment to the Football Association of Ireland’s (FAI) National Training Centre in Dublin.

(L-R) Fergal Dignam (Groundsman at FAI National Training Centre), Sam Thompson (Dealer Manager Groundcare & Construction Products at Kubota UK), Walter Holleran (Facility Development Manager at FAI National Training Centre)

The new partnership has seen Kubota supply its STW37 and GL4240 compact tractors, two F series out front mowers with GC900 hi-tip collection, a G26 series ride-on mower and one of its RTV X900 utility vehicles. The Kubota machinery fleet is being used by the FAI’s groundcare team to ensure the National Training Centre’s six full-size football pitches and specialised goalkeeper training area are kept in first class condition.

The award-winning FAI National Training Centre, part of the National Sports Campus, opened its doors in October 2015 as part of a modernisation project within Ireland that saw the refurbishment of facilities for several national sporting bodies. In addition to football pitches, the new sports complex features a modern pavilion that houses four changing rooms, a lecture theatre, a classroom and a fully equipped kitchen area.

The FAI National Training Centre has become home to the Republic of Ireland men and women’s senior teams, as well as hosting Ireland youth teams, FAI Player Development Plan workshops and FAI Coach and Refereeing Education courses.

Walter Holleran, FAI Facilities Development Manager, said: “The FAI National Training Centre is a facility fit for our international teams, so it’s vitally important that we utilise the finest groundcare equipment to keep the pitches in the best condition possible all year round.

“Having quality pitches for our players to train on is vital in preparation for match days, so being able to call upon groundcare equipment from Kubota enables us to complete our jobs to the highest possible standard and provides our international players with a great platform to succeed.”

Dave Roberts, Managing Director of Kubota UK, commented: “The FAI National Training Centre is amongst the very best sporting facilities in Ireland and we’re very proud to be named the as the official supplier of groundcare equipment. I’m sure this is the beginning of what will become a long and fruitful working relationship.”
