HEADLAND TO DISTRIBUTE NEW BAYER FUNGICIDE
Exteris Stressgard was launched at BTME
BTME last week marked the start of a close co-operation between Headland Amenity and Bayer Cropscience.
Headland will distribute Bayer’s new turf fungicide Exteris Stressgard, which was launched at the show in Harrogate.
Exteris Stressgard is the first combination SDHI fungicide to be launched in the UK turf sector and features new chemistry from a completely new fungicide group. Engineered to target Microdochium Patch and Dollar Spot, Exteris Stressgard features the first new chemical group to be introduced in almost ten years.
Commenting on its introduction, Headland Amenity Sales and Marketing Director Andy Russell said, “With an extensive range of applications, this new product is of interest to greenkeepers and groundsmen alike. Exteris Stressgard is a turf specific combination fungicide utilising Succinate DeHydrogenase Inhibitor (SDHI) and proven Quinone outside Inhibitor (QoI) modes of action. It is a systemic foliar disease specialist, offering fungicidal management along with the benefits of Stressgard Formulation Technology in a single solution.”
The SDHI in Exteris Stressgard is Fluopyram, a new active ingredient and an Acropetal penetrant, which can penetrate through roots, shoots and leaves. It forms a protective barrier on the plant, permeates into the plant and moves upward into the plant’s xylem. The product also features Trifloxystrobin, a proven QoI fungicide.
The company says availability of a completely new fungicide group will improve options for product rotation and minimise the possibility of developing resistance to key active ingredients.
Headland have also been appointed the exclusive distributor of Bayer’s ‘Dedicate’ fungicide, a combination of Tebuconazole and Trifloxystrobin, labelled to control Fusarium Patch, Red Thread, Dollar Spot and Leaf Spot.
