NEW TEAM MEMBER FOR GGP E-commerce & Key Account Manager
GGP UK Ltd has appointed Will Timmis in a new role as Ecommerce & Key Account Manager.
The company says Will will be responsible for managing and developing the mass market channel of national accounts supported by Duncan Martin. In addition he will support both pure-play online garden machinery retailers and traditional trade outlets with online presence, in improving product optimisation and developing market leading marketing assets to support products across the group’s brands Mountfield, Atco, Alpina and Stiga.
Will studied Business & Finance at Worcester before starting his career in sales and category management in the timber sector from construction to log cabins, joinery and timber garden products. In the last four years Will has gained significant experience in online retailing having held a senior management role in e-commerce, purchasing and category management for a market leading independent online retailer in the gardening sector.
Will said, "I am naturally delighted GGP have chosen me for this role, not only are they a terrific team but their passion and dedication to making the best decisions for their customers, the user/consumer is inspiring!
"Unlike most of the GGP sales team, my career has not grown through the garden power tool industry but I am a keen gardener and lawn care enthusiast which started when I was ten years old behind a Webb 24” earing pocket money in my summer holidays – I still have the Webb, every mower since and have collected a few extras too!"
Duncan Martin, GGP md said, "We are very pleased to add Will to the team, he brings a wealth of real world online retailing and key account management to GGP.
"The garden machinery market is evolving at a pace. It is important for GGP to keep pace with the developing market and help all of our customers to adapt as quickly and effectively as possible so the customer finds GGP products and retailers first."
