Devon-based Sleeman and Hawken Limited are to assume full responsibility effective 1st July for the worldwide fulfilment of all Lister Petter genuine parts.  

Sleeman & Hawken has been involved in the distribution of Lister Petter parts since the early 1950s - and have established an enviable reputation for the collective knowledge of their team for the whole range of Lister Petter engines and the support they offer for both current and historic engines.

From the 1st July Sleeman & Hawken will be supplying parts direct from their recently expanded distribution facility in the UK. 

MD Keith Mason says, “Lister Petter has always represented a very high percentage of our turnover and we have over 3000 items in our store dating back to the 1950s."

Lister Petter was formed in 1986, after owner Hawker Siddeley merged Dursley-based R A Lister and Company (founded 1867 which HS acquired in 1965), with Yeovil-engine maker Petters (founded in 1893 and acquired by HS in 1957).

Hawker Siddeley was sold to BTR Group in 1992, and acquired by Schroders in 1996. A management buyout acquired the company in 2000, but subsequently went into administration. The Lister Petter brand was acquired by Lebanon-based Stuanch Manufacturing in June 2015, but engine production remains in the UK.
