Tractor registrations slowed in February

The AEA have released figures which show that, as anticipated, UK registrations of agricultural tractors (over 50hp) slowed down in February, relative to the same month last year.

584 units were registered in February 2018 which represents a -5.8% change compared with February 2017.

Year to date figures are standing at 1,282 units which equates to a +2.2% change compared with January-February 2017.

Stephen Howarth, Agricultural Economist at the AEA said, "At 584 units, the number registered was nearly 6% down year on year and represented the lowest monthly total since December 2016.

"Nevertheless, the monthly total was still higher than in February 2016, following good growth this time last year. The number of tractors registered in the first two months of the year remained 2% higher than a year before."
