DAVID WITHERS LEAVES JACOBSEN
Steps down as President

David Withers stepped down from his role as President of Jacobsen on December 31st, ending 24 years association with the company, the last 5 spent as President based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

David was named president of Jacobsen in October 2011, when he also became a member of Textron's Executive Leadership Team. Before leading the company David served as managing director of the Ransomes division of Jacobsen in Ipswich. In this role since January 2005, he oversaw international operations for the Ransomes and Jacobsen brands, as well as E-Z-GO's brand in Europe. He originally joined the company back in 1992 as a regional sales manager.

Earlier last year Textron announced that Jacobsen were to be merged with Textron Specialised Vehicles with all activities being transfered from Charlotte to Augusta. A move which would have required David relocating.

David said, "After an amazing 24 years with Jacobsen, the last 5 of which it has been my privilege to serve as President and CEO, I am leaving the company.

"It has been great to get to know so many people in this industry and many are now friends as well as colleagues or business partners.

"I will probably head back to the UK and see what the next chapter in my career may bring and look forward to seeing my European industry friends when I get back."

In a statement issued by Textron, chairman, president and CEO, Scott C. Donnelly commented, “David leaves a sizable legacy behind, and his mark is found across Jacobsen’s brands, products and people. I am appreciative of his many contributions to Jacobsen and Textron during his 24 years of service to us, including the last five as Jacobsen president and CEO.

"As part of the business integration, we will transfer Jacobsen’s golf sales organisation into the TSV Golf business, led by Mike Parkhurst, vice president, Golf. This structure enables us to be a single-source solution to golf-course owners and operators for their varied equipment needs.

“Please join me in thanking David for his many years of service and leadership at Jacobsen and Textron.”
